Dark Planes - KRTU Plugged In Session

released 24 January 2013
In the esteemed tradition of the Trashmen, the Stooges, and every other band of punks bashing out 3-chord at obscene volumes, Dark Planes have all too willingly filled a void in SA's scene for skuzzed-up garage rock. Though still roughly a year into playing together, the band has come far from their early noise-rock work-outs, which typically consisted of leader John Mata making up lyrics (and occasionally songs) on the spot, while his band-mates thrashed out whatever seemed to make sense behind. Their KRTU performance sees the band locking in to an impressive set of all original songs (save the last one), while still maintaining enough of the mayhem necessary to making this sound work.

Listen through the full session below, and tune in to the full Plugged In session w/ exclusive tracks and interview content with the band this Thursday at 10pm on Live and Local.
